VOX Opera under the direction of Metropolitan Opera Artist Sondra Kelly and tenor Stanley Wilson ran an extremely successful role study of Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte in June 2022.
Here are some of the comments from participants.
"It was a unique experience to sing through the entire opera and get a real sense of the character development and musical flow. I learned most of how the pacing and emotional growth for Tamino fit in with the other characters. More than that, how to use dynamic control and musicality in interacting with other singers to portray the soul of the character." - Tim Levesque
“My time at Vox Opera was memorable because of the connections I made with other young artists and the learning experiences I had along side them. At Vox, the staff have created a safe space where I felt comfortable applying my skills I learned in college and performing with higher level young professionals. The role study program gave me the confidence, knowledge and skills to add to my college experience. It was necessary to better my understanding of the rehearsal expectations in a professional manner, networking with peers, and to embody the role when performing.” - Alexis Hartman
